Owner Spotlight: Ed Kenney
How long have you been with Parallel?
I just celebrated my 21st work anniversary – so officially over 20 years.
Describe your role.
I’m a Senior Account Executive, so I spend my day taking care of my key accounts and going out and finding new business.
What music is on your Android/iPhone?
I love music. I was in the United States Military Band, which is a pretty big accomplishment. So I have a pretty wide range of music on my phone. Right now I’ve been listening to a lot of urban rap. I coach soccer, and it’s what the kids listen to.
What are 3 words you’d use to describe Parallel?
Professionalism, Family, Integrity.
Name something you are proud of that you’ve accomplished here at Parallel.
I’m on my 22nd year. Consistency. I’ve met or exceeded quota every year, and made President’s Club every year that we’ve had it.
What’s the weirdest job you’ve ever had?
I worked for GM one summer, and my job was to drive Firebirds, TransAms and Camaros off the line to a parking lot. Definitely the most fun job.
Any favorite line from a movie?
You can’t handle the truth!
What is your greatest fear?
Failure.
Where is your favorite place to be?
St. John Island in the Caribbean.
What is something you learned in the last week?
I had no idea that if the street is a court, then dead ends; it’s a cul de sac.
What advice would you give to someone who is just starting out at Parallel?
As long as you have good work ethic and discipline you will thrive. But give it a year. Be patient, trust the process.
